About Raymond Berry
After having a lackluster high school and college career, Raymond Berrys career took off once he reached the NFL. Drafted in the 20th round of the 1954 NFL Draft, Raymond became a permanent starter by his second season. In his career he led the league in receptions three times and only dropped two passes in his entire career thanks to his great hands and precise pass patterns that he became known for. He is a 6 time Pro Bowl selection, a 2 time NFL Champion, and his #82 jersey number has been retired by the Colts. He ended his playing career in 1967 with a record 631 receptions for 9,275 yards and 68 touchdowns. Since retirement from playing, Berry took up coaching from 1968 through 1992 where he made his way up the ladder all the way to becoming head coach of the New England Patriots. He is also a Pro Football Hall of Fame member.
