About Rashard Mendenhall
Rashard Mendenhall is a retired running back of the NFL. He played in college at the University of Illinois where he rushed for 218 yards on 48 carries and had 82 yards receiving and two touchdowns. His workload continued to grow and his numbers rose. He rushed for a school record of 1,681 yards and 17 touchdowns in his final season on the way to becoming the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year. His next step was being the 23rd pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. In six seasons in the NFL Rashard accumulated 4,236 rushing yards and 37 rushing touchdowns in 1,081 attempts. He led his team to become a two time AFC Champion and the Super Bowl XLIII Champion. Following the 2013 season, the 26 year old Mendenhall decided to hang up his helmet and retire from the game, citing his desire to travel the world and become a writer.
