About Philip Montgomery
Philip Montgomery is the offensive coordinator at Auburn. He spent eight seasons as the University of Tulsa head football coach. After a 6-7 first season that ended with a loss in the Independence Bowl, Montgomery led the Golden Hurricane to a 10-3 record. They capped the season with a victory in the Miami Beach Bowl over Central Michigan. Prior to leading Tulsa, Montgomery built a great reputation as the offensive coordinator at Baylor. He was on the Bears staff from 2008-2014 and was a finalist for the Broyles Award in 2013. Montgomery is one of the latest successful coaches to come from the tree of former Baylor head coach Art Briles. He also coached with Briles at the University of Houston and on the high school level in Texas. Montgomery played at Tarleton State and began his coaching career there as a student assitant in 1994.
