About Pat Shurmur
Pat Shurmur is a former NFL head coach currently serving as hte offensive coordinator at the University of Colorado.Shurmer has also been the head coach of the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants.
Before his coaching career, Shurmur was a four-year letterman at Michigan State University. After hisgraduation, Shurmur pursued a coaching career, eventually finding a spot with the Philadelphia Eagles in1999 as the tight end and offensive line coach. In 2002, Shurmur was promoted to quarterbacks coach,helping shape Donavon McNabb into a prolific NFL passer.
After eight years with the Eagles, Shurmurleft to become the offensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams, turning the team from 1-15 to 7-9, theleague’s best turnaround that season. His success with the Rams and rookie quarterback Sam Bradfordled to a call from the Cleveland Browns, and Shurmur was hired as their head coach in 2011. Shurmurwas tasked with developing rookie quarterback Colt McCoy, and helped him progress throughout hisrookie season. He coached the Browns for two seasons before being re-hired by the Eagles as their offensive coordinator, when he and head coachChip Kelly lead one of the best high-flying offenses in the league.
