About Ned Jarrett
Ned Jarrett has spent his life in the fast lane as a driver in NASCAR. When he was on the track he was an intense competitor, but his demeanor outside of the car earned him the nickname, Gentleman Ned. Ned was introduced to cars at an early age, and at the age of 20 he drove in his first race. Over the course of his Grand National, or Sprint Cup career, Jarrett competed in 352 races where he scored 35 poles, 239 top tens, and 50 wins. By the time Ned retired 13 years after his career began, he had also earned himself two championships. Following his career as a driver he then went on to be a broadcaster where Ned's voice filled the homes of millions of fans on the radio and on the television screen. For his contributions to the sport he has been inducted into several Halls of Fame, including being a member of the second class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
