About Mike Jinks
Mike Jinks is the head football coach at Bowling Green State University. Prior to leading the Falcons, he was on the coaching staff at Texas Tech for three seasons. He came to the college game from the high school ranks. Jinks was a coach on the high school scene in Texas for 17 years. He started off as a quarterbacks coach and was an offensive coordinator at three different schools. Jinks got his first head coaching opportunity in 2005 at Luther Burbank. A year later, he was tapped to lead the new football program at Steele High School. In seven seasons, Steele racked up a record of 76-18. He won the 2010 Class 5A Division 2 state championship. In 2012, Jinks was a finalist for National High School Coach of the Year and was coach for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
