Mike Anderson

Mike Anderson played seven seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens after a standout college football career at Mt. San Jacinto Junior College and the University of Utah. Anderson’s route to college was interesting in honorable, as he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after not playing sports in high school. After serving with the 11th Marines at Camp Pendleton in California he was noticed by a recruiter at Mt. San Jacinto Junior College and went on to earn California State JUCO Player of the Year after rushing for 1,686 yards as a sophomore. He then signed to play at the University of Utah and earned allconference honors in consecutive years after posting a school high 102.4 rushing yards per game. In 2000 the Denver Broncos selected him in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, making him one of the rare NFL players to reach the league after not playing football in high school. During his first season with the Broncos he earned AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and would go on to rush for 4,067 yards and 37 touchdowns during his NFL career to go along with 727 career receiving yards and five career receiving touchdowns.
