About Michael Turner
Two-time Pro Bowl and All-Pro pick Michael Turner was one of the best running backs of his era. Turner twice led the NFC in rushing while a member of the Atlanta Falcons. He holds the Falcons franchise record for career rushing touchdowns with 60. From the start in Atlanta, Turner was a star. In his first game, he broke the franchise record with 220 rushing yards. Turner came up in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers, learning behind Pro Bowler LaDainian Tomlinson. His several relief stints running for Tomlinson earned him the nickname, “Burner”. The Chargers originally drafted him in the fifth round of the 2004 NFL Draft. Turner also had a prolific career at Northern Illinois. During his junior season, he finished second in Division 1 rushing. Turner’s single season school records set that year have since been broken by former Huskies’ running back Garrett Wolfe. The Waukegan, Illinois native graduated from North Chicago High School.
