About Michael Clayton
Former NFL wide receiver Michael Clayton broke onto the scene as a rookie with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Clayton caught 80 passes in that 2004 season for 1,193 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2008, he saw his first playoff action with the Bucs winning the NFC South. Clayton also played with the New York Giants during their Super Bowl XLVI winning season. Tampa Bay originally selected him 15th overall out of LSU. Clayton was a star for the Tigers and is in the top five of all major career receiving records at the school. In his final season, LSU won the BCS National Championship. Clayton was born and raised in Baton Rouge, attending Christian Life Academy. He was the first ever inductee to his high school’s Hall of Fame. During his playing career, the Michael Clayton Generation Next Foundation successfully raised money for the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile and the Tampa Bay Pediatric Cancer Canter. Clayton still lives in the Tampa area with his wife and three children. His autobiography, Chasing My Rookie Year, was released in 2013.
