About Maurice Carthon
Maurice Carthon is a former NFL fullback. Carthon was a standout at Arkansas State University and two-time All-Southland Conference selection. He had a successful professional debut, playing three seasons with the New Jersey Generals in the USFL. In 1984, he rushed for 1,042 yards. Carthon went on to play with the New York Giants with seven years. He was a top blocking fullback and won two Super Bowls. Carthon spent one final season with the Indianapolis Colts before retiring in 1992. He went into coaching with his old head coach, Bill Parcells. Carthon was on Parcells' staffs with the New England Patriots and New York Jets as running backs coach. He became the offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions for two seasons before rejoining Parcells in the same role with the Dallas Cowboys in 2003. Carthon was the offensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns from 2005-06. He was also the running backs coach for the Arizona Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs assistant head coach.
