About Matthew Hatchette
Matthew Hatchette is a former professional wide receiver and currently serves as the wide receivers coach at Viewpoint School. In high school, Hatchette played quarterback and was also on the basketball team. Hatchette’s #5 jersey is on display in the school cafeteria with an article about when he was drafted. He is the first Jefferson Falcon to have his number retired. Hatchette attended Langston University where he played wide receiver. The Minnesota Vikings selected Hatchette in the 7th round as the 235th overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft. Hatchette played with the Vikings until 2000 when he signed with the New York Jets. In 2002, Hatchette signed with the Oakland Raiders, but he was released in the preseason due to a shoulder injury. He then went on to play for the Amsterdam Admirals an NFL Europe team before coming back to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars that same year. Hatchette now lives in Los Angeles and is pursing an acting and producing career.
