About Mark Ingram Sr.
Mark Ingram, Sr. is a former wide receiver in the National Football League and father to current running back for the New Orleans Saints, Mark Ingram, Jr. Ingram Sr. was born in 1965 in Rockford, Illinois, played quarterback in high school, and went on to attend Michigan State University, where he was moved to wide receiver. Out of college, Ingram was selected in the first round of the 1987 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. Playing with the Giants for five seasons, Ingram was then traded to the Miami Dolphins in 1993, Green Bay Packers in 1995, and Philadelphia Eagles in 1996. Throughout his professional career, Ingram had an impressive 3,926 receiving yards, 265 receptions and 26 touchdowns. His greatest professional accomplishment was a Super Bowl championship (XXV) as a Giant against the Buffalo Bills. His son, Mark Ingram, Jr. is a recipient of the Heisman Trophy and debuted professionally in the NFL in 2011.
