Mark Emmert

Mark Emmert is the president of the NCAA. He became the fifth president presiding over the organization in 2010. Emmert has worked significantly to change the governance structure of the NCAA and raise the academic standards for student-athletes across the board. Prior to joining the NCAA, he served as the president at his alma mater, the University of Washington, from 2004-2010. The school rose to second in the country in research funding under his leadership while also finishing a $2.6 billion fundraising campaign. He still holds the title of president emeritus at Washington. Emmert has a lengthy back round working in university administration. He served as a chancellor at both Lousiana State University and the University of Connecticut. Emmert also worked at Montana State University and the University of Colorado.
