Laura Granville

Laura Granville is a professional tennis player. Granville attended college at Stanford University for two years where she set the record for most consecutive singles victories with 58. In 2000, Granville won the NCAA women’s tennis singles championship as a freshman at Stanford. The following year, Granville won her second consecutive NCAA women’s tennis singles championship. After her sophomore year in 2001, Granville turned professional. In 2002, Granville won two ITF tournaments, was the runner-up in two ITF tournaments and she reached her first-ever WTA tour quarterfinals. She also won three straight matches at Wimbledon and reached the third round at the tournament in Montreal. Granville defeated former World No. 1 Martina Hignis in the third round at Wimbledon to match her career best showing. She retired from the Women’s Tour in 2010 and returned to Stanford to complete her studies. Granville graduated in 2012 and is now the head coach at Princeton University as the women’s tennis team.
