About Landry Fields
Landry Fields was a professional basketball player who parlayed his playing career into becoming a successful front office executive in the NBA. Fields attended Stanford from 2006-2010 where he played basketball all four years. As a senior, Fields had a breakout season and he earned First-team All-Pac-10. He was also named Pac-10 Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2010. The New York Knicks selected Fields as the 39th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. As a rookie, he earned Rookie of the Month honors in the Eastern Conference for November and December 2010. He was also named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
After two seasons with the Knicks, Fields spent three more years with the Toronto Raptors before retiring from the game. He became a scout for the San Antonio Spurs and after three years was named general manager for their G-League franchise, the Austin Spurs. A year later, Fields became the assistant general manager for the Atlanta Hawks. Due to his significant work rebuilding the franchise around star Trae Young, he was promoted to general manager in Atlanta in 2022.
