Kevin Dyson

Kevin Tyree Dyson was born on June 23, 1975, in Logan, Utah, and he is a former NFL wide receiver and well-known educator who has lived a life of overcoming obstacles and leadership and transformation. He excelled at Clearfield High School before leading a remarkable college career at the University of Utah where he earned two First Team All-WAC honors and earned his B.S. in Sociology in 1997.

The Tennessee Oilers (later Titans) drafted Dyson with their 16th overall pick during the 1998 NFL Draft. During his six-year NFL career he caught 178 passes for 2,325 yards while scoring 18 touchdowns in 59 games. NFL fans remember Dyson for two defining moments: the "Music City Miracle" kickoff return in 2000 and the one-yard tackle that ended Super Bowl XXXIV which showcased his triumphs and near-misses.

Dyson transitioned to education after his football career ended due to injuries and completed three degrees at Trevecca Nazarene University: two master's degrees in Education Administration (2007, 2009) and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Practical Practice (2018). His career in education began with teaching and coaching before he became an assistant principal and eventually principal at Grassland Middle School and Centennial High School before moving to his current position at Centennial High School in Franklin, Tennessee.

Dr. Dyson leads students and educators through his educational leadership while drawing from his NFL discipline and teamwork experience. Through his work as a Titans radio analyst and motivational speaker Dr. Dyson delivers messages about perseverance and leadership and how to transform obstacles into new opportunities.
