About Jimmy Lake
Jimmy Lake is the former head football coach of the University of Washington. Lake took over for Chris Petersen prior to the 2020 season after spending the previous two years as the Huskies defensive coordinator. He originally joined the UW staff as a defensive backs coach in 2014. During his time as an assistant, Washington won the Pac-12 twice and was selected for the College Football Playoff in 2016. Lake came over with Petersen after two years on his staff at Boise State. Lake originally started his coaching career at his alma mater, Eastern Washington, in 1999. He had been a captain for the Eagles football team. Lake spent four more years at EWU as their defensive backs coach before being hired by Washington in 2004. He spent another season in the college game at Montana State before jumping to the pros. Lake coached for five seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions prior to arriving at Boise.
