Jim Otto Biography

Hall of Famer Jim Otto is one of the greatest centers in NFL history.  Otto spent his entire fifteen-year career with the Oakland Raiders and never missed a game.  He was a nine-time AFL All-Star and three-time Pro Bowler.  Ten times Otto was selected to the All-AFL team and following the AFL/NFL merger in 1970 he was named an All-Pro three-times.  Otto went to Super Bowl II with the Raiders and played for the AFL/AFC Championship five more times.  The Wausau, Wisconsin native is also a member of the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame.  Otto was one of the first star players for the University of Miami.  He chronicled his football life with the autobiography, The Pain of Glory.  Otto has had his right leg amputated and 74 different surgeries, but says he would never do anything different regarding his career.  The Raiders keep him actively involved with the organization and he also has many other business endeavors outside of football.
