About Jessie Vetter
Jessica Vetter is the ultimate goalkeeper. She grew up in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin and led the Monona Grove High School soccer team to three state championships in soccer while also earning all-star and all-conference honors in four consecutive seasons. During that time she also starred as a goaltender on the ice. After earning her high school diploma she signed an ice hockey scholarship with the University of Wisconsin and went on to lead the Badgers to an NCAA record 91 wins in her fouryear career to go along with an NCAA record 39 career shutouts. Her outstanding play earned her the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four Most Outstanding Player award in 2006 and 2009 and the Sportswoman of the Year award at the Women’s Sports Foundation’s 30th Annual Salute to Women in Sports Awards Dinner. In 2006 Vetter began playing for the US Women’s National Hockey Team, and has since led the stars and stripes to consecutive silver medals at the 2010 Vancouver and 2014 Sochi Olympic Games. In 2010 Wisconsin Prep Hockey introduced the Jessie Vetter Award, which is presented annually to the top prep female ice hockey goaltender in Wisconsin.
