Jerome Lane

The Denver Nuggets selected Jerome Lane in the first round of the 1988 NBA Draft after an All-American career at the University of Pittsburgh from 1985 to 1988. Lane played his prep basketball at Saint Vincent-Saint Mary High School in Akron, Ohio and earned McDonald’s All-American honors in 1985. While playing at Pitt he earned Third Team All-American honors in 1987 and followed that up by earning consensus second team All-American honors in 1988. During Lane’s first four seasons in the NBA he saw time with the Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, and Milwaukee Bucks. In 1992 he briefly played in Spain before returning to play with the Cleveland Cavaliers until 1993. After the 1993 season he saw time in both Spain and the CBA over the next seven seasons. He retired in 2000 after 12 professional seasons with 1,154 points and 1,258 rebounds in NBA competition. In 1987 he helped Team USA to a silver medal at the Pan American Games, which he considers one of the highlights of his basketball career.
