About Jerod Mayo
Jerod Mayo has spent his entire career in pro football with the New England Patriots. Mayo was a second-team All-American player at Tennessee who originally joined the Patriots as a first-round pick in 2008. During his first season in New England, he tallied 128 tackles and earned PFWA and AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
Two years later, Mayo earned First-Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors after leading the NFL with 175 total tackles. He made his second Pro Bowl in 2012 and won the Super Bowl in 2015. Overall, he recorded 803 tackles, 11 sacks, three interceptions, and eight forced fumbles in his eight-year career.
Mayo rejoined New England in 2019 as inside linebackers coach. He took over the head coaching reigns from the legendary Bill Belichick following the 2023 season.
