JaVale McGee

JaVale McGee is a unique talent in the NBA. Although he is seven feet tall he plays more like a small forward and is able to run the court, shoot, defend and get to the basket off the dribble. From his days at the University of Nevada, NBA scouts knew that he’d be successful at the pro level due to his athleticism and size, which made him an ideal candidate for the Washington Wizards style offense. In 2008 the Wizards selected McGee in the 1st round of the NBA Draft and signed him to a two-year, $2.4 million dollar deal. Over the next four seasons he was a dynamic contributor to the franchise, averaging just over 10 points and 8 rebounds a game. In 2011 he became the first player ever to represent the Wizards in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest and had a great showing, finishing as the runner-up. In 2012 the McGee was traded to the Denver Nuggets and spent parts of four seasons with the team. Later on in his career, he won two championships with the Golden State Warriors and yet another with the Los Angeles Lakers. Outside of basketball McGee has teamed up with his mother to star in their own reality show called, Mom’s Got Game, which debuted in 2013.
