About Jake Matthews
Jake Matthews is most famously recognized as one of the NFL’s prestigious offensive tackles. Matthews currently represents number 70 for the Atlanta Falcons. Born and raised in Missouri City, Texas to Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Bruce Matthews, he graduated from high school as the number seven offensive tackle prospect in the class of 2010. Matthews went on to become an Aggie for Texas A&M and became a first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection as a senior. In the 2014 NFL Draft, he was selected as the sixth overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons. As a new addition to the NFL, Matthews has since started in all thirteen games he has played in to date. With raw talent and athletic genes running in the family, Matthews is also the cousin of Clay Matthews, linebacker of the Green Bay Packers, Casey Matthews, linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles, younger brother to Kevin Matthews who played as a center for the Aggies and older brother to Mike Matthews, who is a current center for the Aggies.
