Jaelan Phillips Biography

Jaelan Phillips is a defensive lineman for the Miami Dolphins after being a first round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Phillips' football journey is a story of amazing perseverance. Phillips was one of the top prospects in the nation when he committed to UCLA. After playing parts of two college seasons, concussions and other injuries prompted him to medically retire from football. He turned his focus to studying music production at Los Angeles City College, but a passion for the sport still burned. He transferred to the University of Miami and once again took the field in 2020. Phillips went on to notch eight sacks on the way to being named a second-team All-American and second-team All-ACC pick.
