About Hue Jackson
Hue Jackson is the head coach at Grambling State and previously a head coach in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders. Jackson started his coaching career in 1987 at his alma mater of Pacific University as a graduate assistant. He would then go on to be an assistant coach at many other universities, including stops at USC, Cal, and Arizona State. Jackson jumped to the NFL in 2001 with the Washington Redskins, serving as the team’s offensive coordinator and running backs coach until 2003 when left to coach at the Cincinnati Bengals. After a stops in Atlanta and Baltimore, Jackson became the offensive coordinator for the Oakland Raiders in 2010, and was promoted to the head coaching position in 2011. Jackson only coached one season with the Raiders, finishing 8-8 before being fired in a surprising move by team management. He would then rejoin the Bengals in 2012, having a successful run that culminated in being named PFWA NFL Assistant Coach of the Year in 2015. His last coaching job came as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns for three seasons.
