Henry Ellard

Henry Ellard is a retired NFL wide receiver and current football coach. Prior to his time in the NFL, Ellard attended his hometown Fresno State University, setting many NCAA and Fresno State receiving records. Ellard’s 1,510 receiving yards in the 1982 season is an NCAA record, and he graduated as the school’s all-time leading receiver. After graduating, Ellard was selected in the second round of the 1983 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams, and he quickly became a fan favorite and team leader. In 11 seasons as a Ram, Ellard became the team’s leading receiver, and is considered to be one of the best Rams of all time. In 1994, Ellard became a member of the Washington Redskins, where he posted three straight 1,000 yard seasons and was still a main target for his quarterback. Ellard ended his 16 year career as a New England Patriot, amassing over 13,000 receiving yards and 65 touchdowns along with three Pro-Bowl Selections. Following his retirement, Ellard spent time as the wide receiver coach at Fresno State, the St. Louis Rams, the New York Jets, and the New Orleans Saints.
