Heather O'Reilly Biography

Heather O’Reilly is a professional soccer defender who currently plays in the NWSL and for the United States Women’s National Team. Prior to her time as a professional, O’Reilly played for the University of North Carolina, where she scored 59 goals in 97 games while leading the Tar Heels to two National Championships in her four seasons. In 2004, O’Reilly started playing for the New Jersey Wildcats of the W-League, and helped the team win the league championship in 2005. Although O’Reilly has played for various club teams for many women’s pro leagues in the United States, her real contributions to soccer have come during her time with the United States National Team. In twelve years with the team, O’Reilly has appeared in over 200 games and scored 41 goals. Her participation for the United States have been crucial to their last three Olympic gold medals, as well as their various other titles in international tournaments.
