About Gilbert Brown
Gilbert Brown was known as “The Gravedigger” during his 11-year career with the Green Bay Packers, both for his bone jarring tackles and the dance he’d perform afterwards. In 125 games for the Packers he recorded 7 sacks and was a force in the middle of Green Bay’s defensive line. His best year statistically came during the Packers 1996 Super Bowl championship season when he recorded a career high 51 tackles and was a part of a defensive unit that allowed an NFL record low 19 touchdowns. At 6’2 and 340 pounds, Gilbert Brown was easy to spot on the field and was a fan favorite around the league. At one point in time Wisonsin Burger King restaurants offered the “Gilbertburger” as a promotional item, naming it after the triple whopper with extra everything that Gilbert was known to order. After football Brown remained an active philanthropist through his foundation and also supports many other worthy causes. In 2014 he launched the IndiGoGo project, which raises money for the production, development and distribution of curriculum to counteract bullying around the country.
