About Fred Dryer
Fred Dryer is a former NFL defensive end who played 13 years in the NFL with New York Giants and the Los Angeles Rams. Prior to his time in the NFL, Dyer started playing collegiately at El Camino Junior College in 1965 and earning a Junior College All American honor in 1966. Dyer then transferred to San Diego State, helping the team win national championships in both seasons and earning yet another All American honor. Following his graduation, Dryer was selected 13th overall in the 1969 NFL Draft by the New York Giants, playing with the team for three seasons, earning All-Rookie team honors. In 1972, Dryer was traded to the New England Patriots, but was traded again to the Los Angeles Rams before ever playing a game with the Patriots. With the Rams, Dryer was a one time Pro Bowler and First Team All-Pro selection, ending his career in 1981 after recording 104 sacks and two safeties.
