Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso Díaz, regarded as one of the best drivers of all time, is a Spanish racing driver currently competing for Aston Martin in Formula One. He clinched the World Drivers' Championship in 2005 and 2006 with Renault and has also competed for McLaren, Ferrari, and Minardi. Alonso's achievements extend beyond Formula One; he has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice with Toyota in 2018 and 2019, claimed the FIA World Endurance Championship in the same period, and secured victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona with Wayne Taylor Racing in 2019. Notably, Alonso is the sole driver to have won both the Formula One World Drivers' Championship and the World Endurance Championship.

Alonso's career began in kart racing at the tender age of three, showcasing his prowess in local, national, and international championships. Transitioning to car racing at 17, he swiftly made a mark by winning the Euro Open by Nissan in 1999 and taking fourth in the International Formula 3000 Championship of 2000. His Formula One journey commenced with Minardi in 2001 before a pivotal move to Renault as a test driver in 2002, leading to his historic championship victories in 2005 and 2006.
