Felix Baumgartner

Felix Baumgartner is an Austrian skydiver, daredevil and BASE jumper. Growing up, Baumgartner dreamed about flying and skydiving. In 1999, he claimed the world record for highest parachute jump when he jumped from the Petronas Towers. A few years later, in 2003, Baumgartner became the first person to skydive across the English Channel using a specially made carbon fiber wing. He also set the world record for lowest BASE jump when he jumped 29 meters. In 2010, Baumgartner began working with scientists and Red Bull to attempt the highest skydive on record. On October 14, 2012, Baumgartner set a-then world record of jumping from 38,969.3 meters and falling 36,402.6 meters. During this time, he also set the record for the highest manned balloon flight and fastest free fall and 843.6 mph. Baumgartner was also the first human to break the sound barrier outside of a vehicle. In 2014, Baumgartner joined Audi Motorsport to drive an Audi R8 LMS for the 2014 24 Hours of Nurburging.
