About Dorsey Levens
Dorsey Levens is a retired NFL running back who played 11 seasons in the league with the Green Bay Packers, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the New York Giants. Prior to his time in the NFL, Levens started his football career at the University of Notre Dame, playing two seasons before injuring his knee prior to his the 1991 season. Levens then transferred to Georgia Tech University, where he would finish his career with 169 carries for 1,036 yards and 10 touchdowns. Following his graduation from Georgia Tech, Levens was selected in the fifth round of the 1994 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. In his first three seasons, Levens served primarily as the backup running back, becoming the starter in 1997 and rushing for over 1,400 yards, earning his first and only Pro Bowl honor. After suffering a knee injury in 1998, Levens was once again relegated to reserve status, eventually being traded to the Eagles in 2002. After a season with the Giants and the Eagles, Levens retired in 2004, finishing his career with 4,955 yards and 36 touchdowns.
