About D.J. Hayden
Derek Sherrard Hayden, more commonly known as “D.J.” is a cornerback for the Jacksonville-Jaguars in the National Football League. Hayden was born and raised in Texas in throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s and ultimately went on to attend the University of Houston. As a Cougar, Hayden was named a second-team All-C-USA in 2011 and a first-team All-C-USA in 2-12. He played for the team for two years before entering the 2013 NFL Draft. While he was selected as the 12th overall pick in the draft by the Oakland Raiders, Hayden became the highest selected defensive player from Houston since Wilson Whitley in 1977.
