About Dick Berggren
Dick Berggren is the voice of NASCAR and was one of the revolutionaries when it came to placing racing at the forefront of American culture. He made his NASCAR broadcasting debut at Dover in 1981 and went on to become the longest-serving TV pit reporter in history. For the next 31 years he provided valuable analysis from the track on what was truly going on during the race, giving fans insight into their favorite NASCAR stars. He made his final broadcast at the age of 70 at the 2012 Coca-Cola 600, but that was not the end all for him in the racing business. The Dick Berggren’s Speedway Illustrated magazine continues to feature stories about racing personalities, technical tips and information and insight into the motorsports world that fans crave. He also continues to attend races all over the country, enjoying hot dogs and a cold beverage while he enjoys the race from the stands. His voice and contributions to the auto-racing world have changed the sport forever, and made it one of the most popular sports in America today.
