Dennis Hull

Dennis Hull played 15 seasons in the NHL for the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings. During his career he played in five All-Star games in 1969, 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1974 and scored 303 career goals to go along with 351 assists for a total of 654 points in 959 career games. In the playoffs he was just as solid, soring 33 goals and posting 34 assists for a total of 67 points in 104 games. During his career he earned the nickname “The Silver Jet” for his speed and stick skills, and because his brother, Bobby Hull was named “The Golden Jet”. Dennis played with his brother Bobby for eight seasons on the Blackhawks where the two teamed up to lead the Blackhawks to unprecedented success. His best season came in 1973 when he posted a career high 39 goals and 59 assists while leading the Blackhawks to an appearance in the Stanley Cup finals. During the playoffs that season he led his team with 9 goals and 15 assists and finished second in playoff scoring. After his retirement in 1978 he became the athletic director at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and published a book about his career called “The Third Best Hull”.
