David Bruton

David Bruton joined the Denver Broncos as a fourth round pick in 2009 out of the University of Notre Dame.  Bruton signed a scholarship with Notre Dame after a standout career at Miamisburg High School in Ohio in which he earned all-area and all-district honors on defense.  While at Notre Dame he recorded 97 tackles and intercepted four passes as a senior and helped the Fighting Irish to a Bowl game in 2009.  After earning his bachelor’s degree in political science in sociology he made his NFL dreams come true by signing a professional contract with the Broncos. Thus far in his career he has appeared as both a safety and kick returner and recoded 113 tackles with one interception and three forced fumbles.  In 2013 the Broncos locked him up through the 2016 season by signing him to a three-year contract extension.  He helped Denver win Super Bowl 50 and went on to spend the 2016 season with the Washington Redkins before retiring. Bruton enjoys giving back to the community as a substitute teacher in his hometown of Miamisburg, Ohio. He is also an advocate for childhood literacy and he encourages reading through his organization Bruton's Books.
