About Dave Righetti
Dave Righetti has been involved with professional baseball at the MLB level for over 30 years as a player and coach. He began his career in pro ball in 1977 as a first round selection of the Texas Rangers. In 1979 he made his MLB debut with the New York Yankees and went on to play 12 seasons in the big apple after being named the American League Rookie of the Year in 1981. From 1991 to 1995 he pitched for the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago White Sox. During his career he tallied a 3.46 ERA in 718 career games and struck out 1,112 batters while saving 252 games. He also earned two All-Star selections, was named the AL Rolaids Relief Man of the Year twice in 1986 and 1987 and threw a no-hitter in 1983. From 2000-2017, Righetti was the San Francisco Giants pitching coach and helped the team to three World Series titles in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
