Darren Harris

Darren Harris is a native of Wolverhampton, England and resides in Sutton Coldfield, England. Harris has flourished on the Paralympic stage despite being visually impaired, and has represented his home country of Great Britain with pride and honor. In 2008 he represented Great Britain in the Judo competition at the Beijing Paralympic Games and was a strong competitor, making it to the quarterfinals of the under-66 kg judo class. However, soccer has always been his passion. He began playing at a young age and began training at Team Bath in 2006. Six years later he earned a spot on the 2012 London Paralympic 10-strong GB five-a-side squad for visually impaired athletes. Harris is a decorated athlete, having won the 2007 Visually Impaired European Championships in judo and followed that up with a bronze medal performance in 2009. To date he has appeared in over 100 international caps in visually impaired football and is considered to be one of the top players in the world.
