About Danny Woodhead
Danny Woodhead was NFL running back. Prior to his time in the NFL, Woodhead played collegiately at Chadron State. In his freshman season, Woodhead rushed for 1,840 yards, good enough to become the first recipient of a full scholarship from the school in its 96 year history. Woodhead continued his dominance during his junior season, rushing for a division record 2,740 yards en route to his first of two Harlon Hill Awards. Considered one of the best running backs in NCAA Division II history, Woodhead ranks second behind Brian Westbrook in total yardage gained throughout his career. In four seasins at Chadron, Woodhead recorded 7,962 rushing yards and 101 touchdowns along with 1,388 receiving yards, making him one of the most prolific players in NCAA history. Following his graduation, Woodhead signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2008, playing with the team for two seasons before signing with the Patriots. Woodhead became a top rusher with the Patriots, helping the team win the 2011 AFC Championship. Woodhead also played for the San Diego Chargers.
