About Dan D'Antoni
Dan D'Antoni has had a unique journey through the basketball coaching world. D'Antoni got to coach at his alma mater, Marshall, from 2024-24. D'Antoni's best season came in 2018, when the team finished 25-11 won the C-USA Tournament, and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
After a playing career that garnered D'Antoni induction into the school's Athletics Hall of Fame, he began his coaching career there as an assistant in 1970. After two seasons on the Marshall bench, he settled in as the head coach at Socastee High School. D'Antoni spent 30 years there and won over 500 games. He established the prestigious Beach Ball Classic and was inducted into the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.
D'Antoni left the school in 2005 to join his brother Mike's staff with the Phoenix Suns. He proceeded to coach with him during stops with the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers as well.
