Corey Dillon

Corey Dillon, born in Seattle, Washington in 1974, is a well-distinguished retired professional football player who most recently served as a running back for the New England Patriots. Excelling in both baseball and football as a high school athlete in the state of Washington, Dillon was selected in the 1993 Major League Baseball Draft by the San Diego Padres to play catcher. Declining this offer to attend college instead, he attended community college for two years before moving on to the University of Washington. Being recognized as Sports Illustrated National Player of the Week during his college years, Dillon was also recognized by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 1997 NFL Draft. He was selected in the second round and played for the Bengals for seven seasons. Throughout these seven seasons, Dillon became the Bengals all-time career leader in rushing attempts, rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. He was honorably traded to the New England Patriots for his final years in the NFL before announcing his retirement from the game to the Boston Globe in 2007. Dillon retired from the NFL with an admirable 11,241 rushing yards and an even more admirable work ethic.
