About Clair Bidez
Clair Bidez initially preferred skiing down the slopes until she realized how much more she enjoyed to snowboard. At the age of 10, she began her competitive snowboarding career. By the time she was 16 she took national spotlight when she placed 5th at the US Open and was asked to join the US Snowboard team. In 2006 she became a Halfpipe Junior World Champion followed up by a 4th place finish at the Winter X-Games. After a series of trips to the podium in many national and world events, Bidez was on the way to becoming a US Olympian and was even featured in Sport Illustrateds Swimsuit Edition as a possible Olympian. Despite making it to the qualifying finals in both 2009 and 2010, a nagging ankle injury kept Bidez from reaching her dream of becoming a US Olympian. After tough consideration, Bidez retired from snowboarding in order to further her education and is currently studying at Westminster College as an Environmental Science major.
