Chet Walker Biography

Chet Walker graduated from Bradley University in 1962 where he remains the school’s all-time leading scorer. As a four-year starter, Walker helped lead the braves to 2 NIT Championships in his tenure there. Walker was then drafted by the Syracuse Nationals, whom after Walker’s rookie season were moved to Philadelphia and named the 76ers. After Walker’s All-Rookie Team performance his first season, he continued to shine in the NBA as a starter for the 76ers’ 1967 NBA Championship team which is considered to be one of the best NBA teams of all time. Following his tenure with the 76ers, Walker spent his final 6 seasons with the Chicago Bulls where the veteran forward averaged no less than 19.2 ppg in any of his seasons with the Bulls. In his 13 NBA seasons, Walker earned 7 selections to the All-Star Game and averaged 18.2 ppg with a total of 18,831 career points.
