About Chad Lunsford
Chad Lunsford is the former head football coach at Georgia Southern. Lunsford took over as interim coach during the 2017 season and turned them around in 2018, going 10-3. The Eagles finished the year with a win in the Camellia Bowl. Lunsford has deep ties in the state of Georgia, having being born there and playing at Georgia College. He began his coaching career at Appalachian State in 2001, before returning to the state as a coach at Georgia Southern in 2003. Lunsford went on to coach on the high school level and at Georgia Military College before serving as Auburn's Director of Scouting from 2009-2012. He joined then head coach Tyson Summers staff back at Georgia Southern in 2013.
