Brian France

Brian France is the CEO and chairman of NASCAR, and has done so since taking over the position from his father in 2003. Due to his father being a main component behind the formation of NASCAR, France grew up around the sport, and was constantly surrounded by it and watched it grow. After studying at the University of Central Florida, France was put in charge of several short tracks along with managing the NASCAR Entertainment division. His work within the entertainment division helped NASCAR grow to one of the most popular sports in America, and without his work, the sport might not be as popular as it is today. In 1995, France created the Craftsman Truck Series, growing the small series into NASCAR’s third most popular event. This creation as well as his ability to grow the popularity and name brand of NASCAR earned France respect from the board members and his own father, and he was promoted to the CEO position within the sport in 2003. His work as CEO has allowed NASCAR to expand bigger than it has ever been before, and it shows no signs of slowing down.
