About Brendan Hansen
Brendan Hansen is a professional competition swimmer who represents the United States in various international events. Hansen started swimming in high school, competing in junior competitions and winning four straight high school championships in the 100 yard breaststroke. For college, Hansen attended the University of Texas, and he never lost a breaststroke event in his four years as a Longhorn. In total, Hansen won 16 All American awards and 14 National Championships during his four years, and he graduated in 2005 with a degree in kinesiology. Along with competing in the NCAA, Hansen also raced in international events, winning the 2001 World Aquatics Championship and the 2003 World Aquatics Championship. Hansen went on to represent the United States at the 2004 Olympics, but failed to bring home a gold medal, instead settling for a silver and a bronze medal. Hansen avenged his disappointments at the 2004 Olympics in 2008 and 2012, as he was a member of the teams that won gold at the relay events.
