About Brandon Weeden
Brandon Weeden is an NFL quarterback who is currently the backup QB for the Houston Texans. Weeden’s rise to the NFL was quite unorthodox, as he originally pursued a career in the MLB back in 2002 with the New York Yankees as a pitcher. After four seasons in the MLB, Weeden officially retired from baseball to play football at Oklahoma State University. As a 27 year old junior, Weeden took the starting job in 2010, leading the Cowboys to a national ranking and setting a school record for passing yards. His senior season would be even better, as he led the Cowboys to an 11-1 record and a berth in the 2012 Fiesta Bowl, defeating Stanford 41-38 in a high scoring shootout. Although analysts knocked Weeden for his age and his mechanics, the Cleveland Browns selected him in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, making him the oldest player to ever be drafted in the first round.
