Brandon Mebane Biography

Brandon Mebane is a NFL defensive tackle who currently plays for the Los Angeles Chargers. Mebane played his collegiate years at the University of California, where he recorded 109 tackles and 14.5 sacks. Not highly regarded by many NFL scouts, Mebane was expected to be drafted in the 5th or 6th round, but the Seattle Seahawks took a chance on him, drafting him in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. This move would greatly pay off for the Seahawks, as Mebane became an anchor on their defensive line that would eventually become one of the most dominant in NFL history during their Super Bowl run in 2013. In his nine seasons with the team, Mebane has recorded 349 tackles and 15.5 sacks. He joined the Chargers in 2016 and has played for the team ever since.
