Bill Yoast

After playing football at the high school and collegiate levels, Bill Yoast turned to coaching as a career. Bill decided to take on coaching at the high school level and he has never left it. Bill began his career in Georgia before moving to Alexandria Virginia. Yoast’s greatest accomplishment in coaching came in 1969 when he led Hammond to the North Virginia regional championship game and when he worked as an assistant to Herman Boone in 1971 when the T.C. Williams High School team won the state championship and finished with a second place national ranking. Yoast’s claim to fame in the public eye stems from being portrayed in the 2000 movie Remember the Titans where he was portrayed by actor Will Patton. Since retiring from coaching in 1990, Bill has become an author by writing a book about his experiences as a coach titled Remember this Titan.
