About Arthur Moats
Arthur Moats is a linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Moats is best known for a play he made during his rookie season with the Buffalo Bills. He hit legendary quarterback Brett Favre in Week 10 of the 2010 season, eventually ending Favre’s consecutive starts streak at 297 games the following week. After being selected in the sixth round out of James Madison, Moats has played mostly a reserve role for the Bills and now the Steelers in his four year NFL career, but did start 12 games in 2013. He won the Buck Buchanan Award for the Dukes in 2009, which is awarded to the top defensive player at the FCS level. His 23.5 tackles for loss that year set a school record and led the nation. Moats was the Bills’ Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2013 for his work with the United Way and other groups in the Buffalo area. “Don’t Cross the Moats” is his catchphrase that was coined by a Buffalo radio personality.
